BREAKING NEWS: OJ Simpson Sentenced to Jail

OJ Simpson
OJ Simpson

While OJ Simpson avoided a potential life sentence for charges of kidnapping and armed robbery, the former football great will serve a minimum of six to nine years behind bars before he is eligible for parole.

The charges stem from the Sept. 3, 2007 incident in which Simpson and a group of men held two sports memorabilia dealers at gunpoint while they made off with $100,000 in footballs, baseballs and lithographs. Simpson, 61, claims he was just trying to recover his own posessions.

Did OJ Simpson get justice? Are you satisfied with the verdict?

DO YOU NEED A GOVERNMENT BAILOUT?

What trips me out with all these banks being "bailed out" is that no one is offering to bail out the little people like you and me. If you’re out on your porch right now, no matter where you live in America, there are probably two houses for sale and at least one that’s been on sale for a year. And the longer those houses stay vacant, the more your real estate value goes down, and the value of your investment diminishes.

The bank doesn’t care about your investment: they just want the mortgage note on the house that is now only worth two-thirds of what you paid for it. And there you sit, wondering who will bail you out from up under that.

The problem with bail outs is that someone has to pay the piper. This is why McCain and  Obama have been mum on them: because you’ll pay either coming or going. They’ll get you in the wash or in the rinse. But with any kind of bail out, they are going to cost taxpayers like you and me some serious cash — cash that we really need for infrastructure, not paying the tab for investment banker fat-cats. The rub is, the market has to be made right some way, and this may be the only way: robbing Peter to pay off Paul. Both McCain and Obama are at a loss on this particular issue and, in my opinion, neither have a solution that makes any sense.

If there is a rainbow to this whole dirty affair, it’s that at least we are done talking about Gov. Sarah Palin’s email and back to talking about issues that matter to Americans.

Question: Can you afford to bail out big companies?  Tell us here.
