So it looks like the first Black man to be elected president is making history again by putting the first Black man in the office of Attorney General. There are numerous reports surfacing that suggest President-elect Barack Obama will choose Washington lawyer Eric Holder to be his AG, a monumental move in a monumental election.

While talk persists about Sen. Hillary Clinton as a choice for Secretary of State, there are still rumblings about Sen. Bill Richardson still being in the running, which would really help color the White House a new shade, in a matter of speaking.

Now, there has been a lot of speculation that Obama would paint the White House Black, but I don’t think those are his intentions. Obama’s too smart to just pick allies because they are Black or politically correct. That said, I think his commitment to diversity is clear and apparent. I think he wants to put the people best qualified for the job in the right seats, and if they are of color, so be it. Some of us are looking for a kind of “affirmative action,” where he seeks out people of color. What about you?
