SIMON COWELL APOLOGIZES TO BEYONCE

THE FACTS
In order to get Beyonce to appear on his popular UK-based series, The X-Factor, Simon Cowell had to apologize for previous comments he made about Beyonce.

THE SPIN
A couple of years ago Simon Cowell threw shade at the Queen Bee saying: “I find the whole Beyoncé thing really mystifying. She’s not sexy, she hasn’t got a great body and she’s not a great singer.”

If you’ve seen the last couple of winners from that show, you’ll join me in laughter right now.

Producers of his show The X-Factor had been trying to land Beyonce on the show, but Papa Mat wasn’t having any of it until Simon corrected his hate. Simon initially refused to back down on what he said two years prior — that is, until he was reminded that the only singer that could score the record ratings Britney set when she appeared on the show two weeks prior is Beyoncé. So he ended up apologizing and I wish I could’ve been there to see what he said.

Beyawnsay is making old British White men shut up. Take note of her clout, ya’ll.

In any event, you can check out Beyonce performing “Listen” with the winner of the show here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-qNi0C2d-MU.

THERE IS NO PLEASING KANYE

THE FACTS
The Sun reports that Kanye West has complained again that the MTV awards are fixed.

THE SPIN
It seems MTV can’t win when it comes to Kanye.

Here’s his rant:

He said: “BRITNEY SPEARS over RIHANNA? Are you serious?

“I mean f******  JARED LETO? He’s my boy but he shouldn’t have won over some of those other artists.

And of course the biggest crime of all: how they treated him.

‘Ye said, “I won nothing last year and I’d brought out ‘Stronger.’ Then this year, just because I was there, I won best urban act. This was L’IL WAYNE’s year.”

You can’t win when you don’t give him an award nor can you when you give him one.

YOUR SPIN: Do you agree with Kanye or is he full of himself?  Tell us here.

JOHN LEGEND: ‘I’M NO BRITNEY’

THE FACTS
While speaking with the Associated Press, John Legend dismissed the suggestion he seek more media coverage to improve his career.

THE SPIN
I don’t really like when artists go out of their way to single out other acts to make themselves sound better – especially people we know who just got over the case of the crazy only a week or so ago. But John Legend wanted to make a point, and that’s how he chose to make it.

Legend said: “You read about for instance, Britney Spears all the time and her last album didn’t even sell that well. You read about Lindsay Lohan all the time her last album didn’t sell that well, nor have her movies sold that well, so I don’t think there’s that strong of a correlation between tabloid coverage and album sales.”

He has a point, though Britney scored one of the biggest hits of her career while she looked like her makeup was a bag of rocks to her face. No, I’m not a Britney stan barking back, he just loses me with his logic – particularly when he says, “One of the things that I was thinking was, ‘You know, I wanna go from a theater artist to an arena artist.’”

YOUR SPIN: And what kind of artist is known to fill up arenas?  Tell us here.
