CHARLES BARKLEY IS REAL CLASSY

THE FACTS
According to a police report obtained by The Smoking Gun, Charles Barkley told an officer he was in a rush for sex following an arrest for a DUI.

THE SPIN
This is what Sir Charles had to say to his arresting officer: “You want to know the truth? I was gonna drive around the corner and get a b— j–.”

Makes you wonder if honesty truly is always the best policy, doesn’t it?

According to the incident report, Barkley was “cordial and respectful” with officers during processing – and apparently quite the storyteller. He went on to talk about his sexual escapades with the mystery woman, telling the officer at the police station she had performed the act only a week prior and that “it was the best one he had ever had in his life.”

This from a man who only a few months ago said he wanted to run for governor of Alabama in the near future. Way to launch a gubernatorial run, Barkley.

CHARLES BARKLEY RUNNING FOR GOVERNOR

THE FACTS
Charles Barkley told CNN’s Campbell Brown that he plans to run for governor of Alabama in 2014.

THE SPIN
When asked if he was serious about running this time (he previously mentioned running in the 1990s as a Republican), Sir Charles said:  “I am, I can’t screw up Alabama.”

Sounds like a campaign slogan to me. For Barkley, things are so bad, you can’t help but go up with him. He told Campbell Brown, “We are number 48 in everything and Arkansas and Mississippi aren’t going anywhere.”

How’s that for straight talk, McCain? As governor, Barkley promises that education will be his top priority. “The public school system in this country is the worst it has ever been and what that does is that hurts crime, it hurts the judicial system,” he said. “You know if you don’t give people education and hope, they become criminals. They get involved in drugs. So we have got to fix the public school system.”

Sounds reasonable, but question: Are you tired of celebrities running for public office?  Tell us here.
