Essence Atkins confirms to AOL Black Voices that she will co-star in the musical, Preacher’s Kid.

I think it’s safe to say that Tyler Perry has started something. In what’s said to be a modern interpretation of the fable of The Prodigal Son, in the film, Preacher’s Kid, a 20-something Angie King escapes the trappings of being a preacher’s daughter and strikes out on her own for the very first time as she joins a traveling gospel show.
Hmm, OK. The film will feature the former Half & Half co-star along with Tank, Ella Joyce, Clifton Powell, and Gospel singer Kierra “Kiki” Sheard, and LeToya Luckett.
That’s right, Toya. Show Beyonce she’s not the only movie star! The independent film will soon begin shooting in Atlanta and will be released through Warner Brothers.
I’m sure if the film manages to make even $3 Hollywood will try to make at least 6 more films just like it.
