DAME DASH IS DONE DEFENDING JAY-Z

THE FACTS
In an interview with Hip Hop Official, Damon Dash says he is done defending Jay-Z.

THE SPIN
There’s been some talk about Dame’s relationship with Jay-Z lately over recent comments made by Dame. Judging from this recent interview, Dame still seems a little salty. The one time business partner of Jay-Z had this to say about longtime friend’s feud with Jim Jones:

“Jay’s put me in a position where I can’t protect no more. You know what he did to me publicly can be perceived as so heinous and foul that how I could I ever tell someone ‘don’t do nothing.’ He made things just business so for me I just don’t get involved. You know before I might have taken a bullet for Jay. I might have taken a punch to the face for him. But now I just don’t totally get involved. So anybody has any issues with him it ain’t too much I can do and the only reason why is he chose it to be. I wish it weren’t like that but being that it is it is what it is. I’m not gon’ be battling him, but I’m not jumping in a fight for him regardless of who it’s with. And that’s just how he put things.”

Dame joins a long list of folks (Foxy Brown, Teairra Marie, Amil) who in so many words attribute their souring relationship with Jay-Z on him.

DAME DASH IS BROKE

THE FACTS
The New York Daily News reports that Damon Dash is broke.

THE SPIN
Three years ago Damon Dash sold his stake in the Roc-A-Wear clothing brand to Jay-Z for $20 million. That’s not even including other money he earned from his main line of business. So why in the hell is he broke?

According to the New York Daily News, times are extra hard for the one time multi-millionaire. Back in August, he faced foreclosure on the $7.3 million mortgage on two Tribeca condos after he failed to keep up with the monthly $78,504.26 bill. He also owes $2.1 million in back taxes to the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance. A Manhattan judge also ordered the city to seize his Chevrolet Tahoe, since he wasn’t making the $714.99 monthly payment on the leased SUV.

Why he was paying that much money a month to lease a Tahoe is beyond me. Anyway, he also owes his law firm, who recently dropped him for not paying legal fees.

Lawyer Jason Gabbard, who represented a fashion firm that settled a suit against Dash and his wife over $148,505 in unpaid fees told the Daily News: “I’ve worked with musicians, artists and entertainers that in the eyes of the media are very wealthy. But to borrow a phrase from my Kentucky homeland, they haven’t got a pot to p— in - they’re broke.”

I’m mad a self-professed “cake-a-holic” has a bank account suffering from diabetes. MC Hammer ought to call him and curse him out.

50 CENT’S NEW REALITY SHOW

THE FACTS
MTV has announced that 50 Cent will have a reality show entitled 50 Cent: The Money and the Power

THE SPIN
Words can’t begin to express just how excited I am about yet another reality show making its way to television; yawns surely could, though. 50 Cent’s show will take 14 contestants competing to become the next rap mogul. Sound familiar? Wait, let me finish.

During the show, the contestants will live together in a warehouse called ‘Camp Curtis’ where they will take on mogul-related challenges issued by 50 Cent. 50 will then eliminate the contestants each week and the winner will receive $100,000.

It’s basically the same Dame Dash show Puffy took and remixed which originally came from Donald Trump several years ago.

Have fun watching that one, ya’ll.
